Lidl recalls Gelatelli coffee and vanilla gelato over Listeria concerns

Lidl US has issued a voluntary recall for a specific lot of its Gelatelli Coffee & Vanilla Gelato with Coffee Sauce & Cookie Pieces due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall affects 1-pint containers distributed between July 19 and October 15 to Lidl locations in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

The affected product is identified by lot number 085261, a best-by date of March 26, 2028, and UPC 4 0564897 22458. The gelato is packaged in a clear plastic container with a brown lid, with identifying information located on the bottom.

Routine quality testing detected the bacteria, which can cause listeriosis, a foodborne infection that may lead to serious illness or death, particularly in pregnant individuals, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. As of the announcement, no illnesses have been reported. Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to a Lidl store for a full refund without a receipt.
