Lidl recalls Martínez Somalo chorizo products in Germany

Lidl Germany has issued a nationwide recall for two Martínez Somalo brand chorizo products due to a potential interruption in the cold chain. The company warns that the break in refrigeration may compromise the products' shelf life and safety, as bacteria could multiply more rapidly than expected.

The affected items are ‘Martínez Somalo Chorizo BBQ’ and ‘Martínez Somalo Chorizo BBQ Picante Spicy’ (375g packs). The recall specifically concerns products with the following best-before dates: November 28, 2026; December 5, 2026; December 12, 2026; December 19, 2026; and December 26, 2026.

Lidl advises customers not to consume the affected products. Consumers can return the items to any Lidl branch for a full refund, even without a receipt. The manufacturer of the products is Hijo de José Martínez Somalo, S. L.
