Lidl issues nationwide recalls for bratwurst and chocolate snacks

Lidl is conducting nationwide recalls in Germany for two distinct food products due to safety concerns.

SB-Convenience GmbH has recalled two Metzgerfrisch brand bratwurst products: ‘Frische Grobe Bratwurst’ (400g, expiry 15.09.2026) and ‘Frische Grobe Bratwurst XXL’ (1600g, expiry 13.09.2026). The recall is due to the potential presence of red plastic fragments, which pose a risk of injury to the mouth, throat, or internal organs if swallowed. Customers can return these items to any Lidl store for a full refund without a receipt.

Additionally, Victoria Nuts Ltd. has issued a recall for chocolate-covered strawberries sold at Lidl. An investigation revealed that the pesticide chlorpyrifos exceeded legal limits. Because chlorpyrifos is banned in the EU, the product is considered a health risk. Affected customers are advised not to consume the snack and may return it to Lidl for a refund.
