Lidl recalls salami and frozen berries over E. coli and norovirus risks

Lidl and its supplier Gustoland GmbH have issued a product recall for the "Dulano Delikatess Edel Salami Rind" (100 g) in Germany. The batch, identified by best‑before date 10 Aug 2026 and code DE EV 42 EG, was found to contain verotoxin‑producing Escherichia coli, which can cause severe gastrointestinal illness, especially in infants, the elderly, pregnant women and immunocompromised persons. Consumers are advised not to eat the salami and to return it to any Lidl store.

In Switzerland, Lidl withdrew the frozen Freshona Bio berry mix (300 g) after the Federal Office for Food Safety detected norovirus in the product. The affected packs carry best‑before dates in early 2028 (lots L250226B3, L270326B3, L150426P3). Norovirus can cause sudden vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and other symptoms, with higher risk of serious illness for older adults, children and those with weakened immunity. The retailer has removed the items from shelves and urges consumers to discard them.
