Lidl reports 17% increase in international profit for 2025/26
Lidl reported significant growth in its international operations for the 2025/26 fiscal year, which concluded on February 28. Lidl Stiftung, which manages operations outside of Germany and France, saw international sales rise by 8.34% to €102.6 billion. During this period, earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) grew from €4 billion to €4.4 billion, while net profit increased by approximately 17%, rising from €2.3 billion to €2.7 billion.
Across its entire business, Lidl recorded store revenue of €140.2 billion, a 6.1% increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to an expanding retail network and a growing customer base. The Schwarz Group, which owns both Lidl and Kaufland, saw its total revenue increase by 5.8% to €185.6 billion. Combined, Lidl and Kaufland added 300 stores to their network, reaching a total of 14,500 locations.
Additionally, reports suggest that Schwarz Group may be a potential bidder for Tesco’s Central European business in Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary, should the UK retailer decide to exit those markets.
