Lidl rolls out 9.5‑L double‑tray air fryer for under €60
Lidl has introduced a new air‑fryer model under its SilverCast brand, offering a total capacity of 9.5 L across two independently controlled trays. The appliance can be set between 40 °C and 240 °C, draws 470 W at maximum power, and is priced at €59.99, making it one of the cheapest large‑capacity fryers on the market. Lidl claims it can fry up to 1.7 kg of chips at once and supports separate cooking programs for each tray, allowing two dishes to finish simultaneously.
Air‑fryers are promoted as a healthier alternative to deep‑frying because they require minimal oil. Their versatility is illustrated by a popular recipe for a yogurt cake that can be baked in an air‑fryer in about 45 minutes at 150 °C, serving four people. The recipe calls for eggs, yogurt, oil, sugar, flour, baking powder, lemon zest and butter, and follows the same basic steps as a conventional oven bake, with a shorter cooking time and the need for an air‑fryer‑compatible mold.
