Lidl rolls out permanent low‑price range and pilots 24‑hour stores in Poland
Lidl has introduced a "price revolution" in Poland, offering a permanent reduction on selected everyday items without the need for coupons or a loyalty app. Products marked with the "Your low prices" label carry the new lower regular price, which can be adjusted only after a minimum 27‑day notice period.
At the same time, Lidl, along with competitors Biedronka and q‑commerce player Lisek, is testing the profitability of 24‑hour store formats. The trials focus on locations with strong night‑time demand such as transport hubs, hospitals and industrial zones. Future Mind estimates that night‑time sales depend on basket value and margin rather than sheer footfall. In 2025, Lidl operated three 24‑6 pilot stores while about 25 Biedronka outlets were open around the clock, together recording roughly 1.8 million visits between 22:00 and 06:00. The experiments aim to determine whether extended hours can be economically viable beyond selective sites.
