Lidl Serbia records cheapest weekly consumer basket for 12th month

An independent study by NMS Market Research covering July 2025 – July 2026 found that Lidl Serbia’s weekly consumer basket was the cheapest among the five major retail chains (DIS, Idea, Lidl, Maxi, Roda) surveyed in four Serbian cities. The results, spanning 12 consecutive months, show the low prices are a sustained business principle rather than temporary promotions.

Lidl Serbia stocks more than 700 domestic products, with procurement from Serbian suppliers rising 16 % year‑on‑year and projected exports of Serbian goods through the Lidl network reaching €22 million in 2025. Company executives emphasized that operational efficiency, fair supplier relationships and a long‑term commitment to low regular prices drive the outcome. The basket analysis follows the average consumer basket defined by the Republic Statistical Office and includes 73 food and non‑alcoholic drink items.

Lidl Serbia is part of the German Schwarz Group, which operates over 12 900 stores across 31 countries.
