Lido Committee gains control over ETH deposit-reserve target

Lido’s Curated Module Committee has gained the authority to adjust the protocol’s deposit-reserve target, a setting that dictates how buffered Ether (ETH) is prioritized between validator deposits and stETH withdrawal requests.

The committee, a five-of-nine multisignature body, can set the target anywhere from zero to 9,600 ETH. This target is filled before Lido’s withdrawal reserve and unreserved buffer. A higher target preserves capacity for validator deposits and stake migration, while a lower target makes more buffered ETH available to the withdrawal queue during periods of high demand.

As of late September, the target remained at 1,500 ETH. The committee has proposed setting the target to zero until the 0x02 Community Staking Module goes live, which is expected in October 2026. The Lido decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) retains the power to revoke this authority or set the target directly.
