Lido di Venezia beach season extended until October 31

Venezia Spiagge, a company owned by the Municipality of Venice, has announced the extension of the beach season at the Lido di Venezia until October 31. This extension brings the total operating period to six and a half months.

The initiative focuses on the Blue Moon establishment, which originally opened on April 20. To encourage use during the autumn months, a program of activities specifically designed for families and young people will run from September 26 through the end of October.

Local officials, including Budget Councilor Michele Zuin and Venezia Spiagge President Pierluigi Padovan, stated that the move aims to promote sustainable tourism and de-seasonalization. The goal is to provide social value to residents and visitors by making the Lido a community hub beyond the traditional summer months. Special weekend rates, such as 5 euro for sun loungers, will be offered to support this initiative.
