LIDOM teams announce management changes and player signings

Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) teams are making significant roster and management moves ahead of the 2026-27 season and the upcoming Rookie Draft.

Leones del Escogido has announced a new baseball operations structure. Carlos Peña returns as general manager, supported by Ángel ‘Aroboy’ Santana as special assistant and Joel Lithgow as assistant to the GM. The organization also introduced Ricardo García as assistant to the GM and administrative director. Other key appointments include Eduardo Pérez as Director of Baseball Operations, Perry Husband as Director of Competitive Strategy, José Almonte leading scouting, and Manuel De Moya heading analytics.

Toros del Este has strengthened its pitching rotation by signing veteran Major League pitcher Spencer Turnbull. The 33-year-old right-hander joins a rotation that already includes Aaron Sánchez and Carlos Rodríguez. Turnbull brings significant experience, including a no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners in 2021. The Toros are preparing for the start of preseason training on September 21.
