LIDOM to implement automated ball-strike system in 2026-27 season

The Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) will implement the Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS) for the 2026-27 season. Developed by Major League Baseball, the technology is currently undergoing final testing in stadiums to prepare for its official introduction.

LIDOM President Vitelio Mejía stated that the league is committed to technological advancement to maintain its status as one of the most important baseball leagues in the world. In addition to the ABS, the league is introducing a digital platform for managing team rosters to prevent registration errors and ensure compliance with player suspensions.

Furthermore, LIDOM plans to launch a new interactive mobile application in November. This app will provide fans with real-time game tracking, play-by-play updates, scores, and access to both current and historical player statistics.
