Liebenfels hosts Run4Memory charity run and receives healthy community award

The municipality of Liebenfels hosted the inaugural ‘Run4Memory’ charity run to raise awareness for dementia and support local self-help groups in Carinthia. Organized under the initiative ‘Promoting Health, Moving Carinthia’ in cooperation with local nursing care services, the event saw 333 participants complete distances of one, five, and ten kilometers, alongside a dedicated run for children.

During the event, Carinthia’s Health Councilor Beate Prettner officially awarded Liebenfels the ‘Healthy Community’ designation. Prettner emphasized that the run’s purpose was not about speed, but about fostering community solidarity and reducing the stigma surrounding dementia. The idea for the event was initiated by nursing care provider Vereina Schatz.
