Liechtenstein leadership conducts state visit to India
Hereditary Prince Alois and Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein are conducting a four-day state visit to India, spanning from October 25 to October 29, 2026. During the visit, the royals met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi following a stop in Mumbai.
Discussions between the leaders focused on the “three Ts”: trade, technology, and talent. Key areas of cooperation include advanced manufacturing, financial services, artificial intelligence, agriculture, space, education, and skills development. Both nations are also discussing a proposed Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) to increase predictability for investors.
The visit coincides with the first anniversary of the India-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). This framework, which includes Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland, aims to mobilize $100 billion in investment into India over 15 years and facilitate one million direct jobs.
