Lieke Nooijen hospitalized after crash in Tour of Britain

Dutch cycling champion Lieke Nooijen will not participate in the second stage of the Tour of Britain following a serious crash during the opening stage to Cockermouth. Team Visma-Lease a Bike confirmed that the 25-year-old athlete was transported to a hospital after the incident on Wednesday.

Nooijen remained on the ground for an extended period following the fall and was unable to continue the race.
