Marlen Reusser wins women's time trial at World Championships
At the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser successfully defended her title in the women's individual time trial. She was followed by Great Britain's Zoe Bäckstedt, who took silver, and Germany's Franziska Koch, who secured the bronze medal.
American triathlete Taylor Knibb delivered a notable performance, finishing 13th. This result comes just eight days after Knibb secured her fourth Ironman 70.3 World Championship title in Nice. Knibb was the top-performing American in the event.
Other notable results included Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky finishing sixth and Lotte Claes taking eleventh. Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering finished eighth, a result that drew criticism from commentator Roxane Knetemann despite Vollering expressing satisfaction with her effort on the technical course. Additionally, Dutch rider Lieke Nooijen competed following a rapid recovery from a broken collarbone, while U23 rider Megan Arens finished ninth in her category.
