Lieke Nooijen wins Dutch national road cycling title

Lieke Nooijen, a 24‑year‑old rider from Helmond for the Visma‑Lease a Bike team, captured her first Dutch national road race championship. The 118‑kilometre circuit around Nijmegen saw Nooijen break away with teammate Femke Markus about 25 km from the finish. Working together they built a minute’s lead over the chase group, and in the final sprint Nooijen proved faster, securing the win and the red‑white‑blue champion’s jersey for the coming year.

The race featured several attacks from favorites, including Mischa Bredewold and Lorena Wiebes, but none could sustain a decisive gap. Nooijen’s victory marks a significant milestone in her career and adds a new name to the roster of Dutch cycling champions.
