Lienchiang County launches livestock inspections for Zhongyuan Festival

Lienchiang County authorities have launched joint inspections to ensure meat safety ahead of the Zhongyuan Festival. The Lienchiang County Government Industry Development Department is collaborating with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency and the Nangan Township Office to monitor the livestock industry.

The inspections focus on preventing the illegal use of dead or waste livestock in the food supply chain. Officials are reviewing livestock farm records and conducting on-site checks at the Jieshou Lion Market in Nangan. Additionally, authorities are promoting animal welfare standards, instructing handlers to use appropriate tools for moving livestock and prohibiting violent or improper methods of transport and slaughter.
