Lietava Castle will host an open house event on Saturday, September 5, 2026, to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Association for the Rescue of Lietava Castle.
The event features various historical and educational activities, including artillery demonstrations by the Strelci kráľa Havrana historical group, falconry by the Horus group, and opportunities for archery, crossbow shooting, and catapult testing. Visitors can participate in guided tours of the upper castle and attend lectures in the castellan's room covering topics such as life in a noble court, the history of the Thurzo family, and recent archaeological research.
Additional programming includes puppet theater, artistic blacksmithing, a stage discussion regarding the castle's past and future, and an evening film screening. Admission is free, with voluntary donations collected to support the ongoing rescue and restoration of the castle.
