Liev Schreiber showcases Manhattan home with rooftop garden

Actor Liev Schreiber and his wife, Taylor Neisen, have opened their downtown Manhattan home to Architectural Digest, revealing a converted 19th-century industrial space that features a unique rooftop garden.

Designed by landscaping firm Brooklyn Grange, the rooftop serves as a green space containing wisteria, raspberry bushes, and five hens. The inclusion of poultry was Neisen’s idea, drawing from her upbringing on a farm in South Dakota. While Schreiber has expressed a long-standing fear of chickens, the birds are typically kept on the roof to maintain his rule of keeping them out of the main living areas.

The interior of the home features a mix of dramatic and subtle design elements, including a blackened-steel spiral staircase, stained rift white oak kitchen cabinets, and various vintage pieces.
