Liezen court resolves dispute over uncompleted fence installation

A Bosnian citizen residing in the Liezen region was brought before the District Court of Liezen in Austria for failing to complete a contracted job after accepting payment. The defendant had received 1,900 euros from a client to procure, transport, and install a fence, claiming the materials would be sourced from Bosnia and Herzegovina to save costs.

The victim testified that the defendant repeatedly provided excuses for the delay, leading her to report the matter to the police. During the proceedings, the defendant admitted to not completing the work, citing financial difficulties as the reason he could not refund the money.

While the judge noted that the defendant could have made installment payments, the legal proceedings concluded without a formal verdict. This occurred after the client expressed willingness to accept the completed installation despite the delay. The judge set a two-month deadline for the work to be finished, to which the defendant agreed. The defendant was ordered to pay 700 euros in court costs.
