Liezen emergency services conduct school bus collision drill

Emergency services in the Liezen district of Austria conducted a large-scale training exercise on the B138 highway. The simulation involved a scenario where a passenger car collided with a school bus, leaving a driver trapped and 27 children injured with varying degrees of severity.

To ensure realism, the Red Cross provided actors who were professionally made up to simulate injuries. The exercise required a coordinated response from four fire departments, including Pyhrn, Liezen-Stadt, and Spital am Pyhrn, alongside the Red Cross, police, and emergency doctors. The operation included rescuing the trapped driver, providing first aid to the children, and utilizing a crisis intervention team to support those uninjured or lightly injured.
