Life insurance emerges as a key tool for financial security and broker revenue

Life insurance is increasingly being viewed as a vital tool for financial security rather than just death protection. In Brazil, the perception of risk has grown following the pandemic, leading to a greater focus on protecting income and assets. According to CNseg, personal insurance premiums reached R$ 78.8 billion in 2025, an 8.3% increase from the previous year, with benefits paid to families totaling R$ 17.5 billion.

In the United States, the LIMRA and Life Happens Insurance Barometer Study 2024 indicated that 42% of Americans identified a need for life insurance or similar coverage.

For insurance brokers, individual life insurance offers a significant opportunity for recurring revenue and stability. A study by economist Francisco Galiza, supported by MAG Seguros, suggests that through cross-selling to existing clients—such as those with auto insurance—brokers could generate revenue equivalent to 77% of their automobile portfolio. The study highlights that life insurance provides a more stable long-term income compared to the high churn rates often seen in the automotive insurance sector.
