Life Sciences Cluster holds inaugural meeting in Oriente Antioqueño

The Chamber of Commerce of Oriente Antioqueño hosted the first annual meeting of the Life Sciences Cluster in Rionegro. The event brought together clinics, research centers, universities, pharmaceutical companies, and laboratories to foster innovation, technology, and biosecurity within the region.

A central theme of the gathering was the ‘One Health’ concept, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Participants analyzed local epidemiological challenges and discussed global trends in prevention and integral care to identify opportunities for regional adaptation.

Key stakeholders, including representatives from Clínica Somer and Clínica del Campestre, emphasized the importance of integrating healthcare entities of varying complexities to optimize medical attention. The initiative aims to create a collaborative ecosystem involving academia and the private sector to address sanitary gaps and promote regional well-being.
