Lifeguard training programs launched in Togo and Mayotte
The Togolese Swimming and Lifesaving Federation (FETONAS) has concluded a five-day professional development and retraining session for lifeguards in Lomé. Held at the Harmonie Signature pool, the training focused on theoretical and practical instruction regarding rescue techniques, victim intervention, and first aid for injuries such as fractures or neck and foot wounds.
In Mayotte, the Departmental Training Center (CDF 976), affiliated with the National Federation of Swimming and Sports Professions, is conducting an intensive ten-week preparatory program. This training aims to help participants meet the prerequisites for the BPJEPS AAN professional diploma, which is essential for becoming a certified lifeguard. The initiative seeks to address a shortage of professionals and improve beach safety on the territory.
