Lifestyle habits play key role in gut and vascular health
Health experts highlight the importance of lifestyle habits in maintaining digestive and vascular health. Gut health is critical for digestion, nutrient absorption, and the maintenance of the intestinal microbiota, which is influenced by diet, physical activity, sleep, stress, and medication. Increasing the variety of plant-based foods can help support a healthy microbiome through fiber fermentation.
Regarding vascular health, specialists warn that sedentary lifestyles and lack of regular movement contribute significantly to thrombosis and chronic venous insufficiency. Dr. Łukasz Paluch notes that proper blood flow depends on the muscle pump—comprising the feet, calves, thighs, diaphragm, and pelvic muscles. To support this mechanism, regular aerobic and strength training is recommended at least two to three times a week for approximately 45 minutes. Other contributing factors to venous issues include improper footwear, frequent use of high heels, and overheating the body.
