Lifetime announces September movie slate inspired by true stories

Lifetime has announced its September movie event, ‘The Strength of a Lifetime,’ featuring scripted films inspired by real-life events. The programming lineup begins on September 12 with ‘Robin Roberts Presents Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story,’ starring Sherri Shepherd and Dondré Whitfield.

Other featured films include ‘Sole Survivor of Flight 119,’ premiering September 19. Based on Tammy L. Kling’s memoir ‘Exit Row,’ the movie stars Sarah Wayne Callies and Joy Bryant and depicts the survival of a passenger following a plane crash in the Mexican jungle.

Additionally, ‘The Ocean Between Them’ will premiere on September 26. Starring Rebecca Gayheart and her daughter Georgia Dane, the film follows a mother searching for her daughter after she disappears at sea during a vacation in Belize.
