Liga de Quito fails to secure requested defender for Gustavo Álvarez

Liga de Quito manager Gustavo Álvarez has reportedly faced challenges regarding squad reinforcements. Despite requesting specific players to strengthen the team for the second half of the season, the club has yet to finalize new signings. Notably, defender Franco Calderón, a target for Álvarez, will not join the Ecuadorian side and is instead set to join Independiente de Avellaneda on loan.

Álvarez has managed five matches with the club, recording three wins, one draw, and one loss. While the team is no longer competing for the LigaPro title, they remain active in the Copa Ecuador and the Copa Libertadores, where they are currently working toward a quarter-final appearance.
