Liga de Quito imposes security restrictions for Barcelona SC match

Liga de Quito has announced new security measures for its upcoming match against Barcelona SC on October 11, 2026, at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium. Due to security concerns, the club will not permit visiting fans to enter the stadium. Furthermore, the restriction extends to any individuals identified by wearing Barcelona SC apparel, regardless of their ticket sector.

The match, part of the second stage of the national championship's hexagonal phase, is scheduled for 16:30 to utilize natural light and support energy-saving measures.

Regarding the championship standings, Barcelona SC enters the decisive hexagonal phase facing a significant mathematical challenge. Having finished the first stage in sixth place with 44 points, they trail leader Independiente del Valle, who has 74 points. To have any chance of winning the title, Barcelona must win all ten remaining matches while Independiente del Valle loses all of theirs, as even a single draw by the leader would make it mathematically impossible for Barcelona to catch up.
