Liga Deportiva Alajuelense draws with Puntarenas FC after rain delay

A heavy rainstorm caused a significant interruption during the football match between Puntarenas FC and Liga Deportiva Alajuelense at the Miguel ‘Lito’ Pérez Stadium. The weather delay lasted over an hour and a half, disrupting the flow of the game.

Following the resumption of play, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense lost possession and conceded a last-minute goal to Puntarenas FC, resulting in a draw. Óscar Ramírez, commenting on the result, expressed frustration over losing the victory in the final minutes but stated he feels no pressure to replicate the high-scoring results achieved during Bryan Ruiz’s interim period.

During the weather delay, FOX Sports journalist Alonso García gained social media attention for his live coverage of the conditions on the pitch, which included demonstrating the state of the grass to maintain audience engagement.
