Liga Dominicana de Fútbol begins 2026-2027 season

The 2026-2027 season of the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol (LDF) has officially commenced, featuring a new format divided into Apertura and Clausura tournaments. The season is dedicated to the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona.

Opening matches include Moca FC against Atlético Vega Real, and Atlántico FC facing Delfines del Este. Other scheduled matchups feature Cibao FC against Jarabacoa FC and Salcedo FC against O&M FC. The tournament consists of eight clubs competing in a regular phase of 14 rounds, with the top four advancing to home-and-away semifinals and finals.

Champions of both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments will qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Caribbean Cup. The season follows a structure where teams play each other home and away during the regular phase.
