Liga Esportiva NESCAU gathers over 6,000 people in Belo Horizonte
The Liga Esportiva NESCAU held its largest edition in Belo Horizonte, gathering 6,081 people at the AABB venue. The event featured over 3,000 registered children and adolescents participating in 19 different sports modalities and activities.
This year's edition saw significant growth compared to previous years in the city, with registrations more than doubling from the 1,500 participants seen in 2025. The event emphasized inclusion, with approximately 12% of participants (360 individuals) being people with disabilities, a figure higher than the league's average of 10%.
Paralympic swimming champions Daniel Dias and Gabrielzinho attended the event as ambassadors to inspire the youth participants. Organizations such as Projeto Fica Vivo, Instituto Mano Down, and Projeto Gol de Placa assisted in bringing children with disabilities to the competition.
