Liga F launches second round of broadcasting rights tender

Spain’s top-flight women’s football league, Liga F, has launched a second round of bidding for its audiovisual rights after the initial tender failed to attract any bids meeting the required reserve prices. The league is seeking multi-year deals for the 2026-27 season and beyond, covering three to five seasons.

For domestic rights, Liga F set a minimum price of €5 million per season for pay-TV coverage of all matches, and €2 million per season for a free-to-air package. International rights for the European Union also failed to reach the €800,000 reserve price. The league aims to maintain a mix of pay-TV and free-to-air exposure, including at least one Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid per season on free-to-air television.

The tender follows the early termination of a previous five-season, €35 million agreement with the streaming platform DAZN. Reports suggest the previous arrangement faced challenges, with DAZN’s dedicated women’s football package reportedly generating significantly less revenue than the rights fee. Interested operators have until August 19, 2026, to submit new bids before the competition begins on August 29.
