Regional health campaigns launch cancer awareness initiatives

Various regional health authorities and organizations across Mexico, Argentina, and Honduras are launching widespread campaigns to increase cancer awareness and access to preventive screenings.

In Mexico, the state of Puebla is implementing the ‘Latido Rosa’ initiative, featuring a charity race and a ‘Magna Jornada de Salud’ offering free services such as mammographies, ultrasounds, and Pap tests. In Veracruz, the ‘Ruta Rosa’ program, coordinated with IMSS-Bienestar, provides free mammographies in Agua Dulce. Additionally, DIF Tamaulipas is conducting its ‘Observe, touch and act!’ campaign to offer free screenings and support services like oncological wigs and prostheses.

In Argentina, the municipality of Olavarría has launched the ‘Octubre Rosa’ campaign, providing extended hours for gynecological and mammary controls in various localities. In San Juan, the ‘San Juan Cerca’ program is integrating cancer screenings with other public services and climate emergency prevention. In Fernández, the ‘First Tournament for Life’ uses padel to promote organ donation awareness.

In Honduras, the Liga Hondubet is conducting its second ‘Pink Journey’ campaign, utilizing football matches to raise awareness for breast cancer and donating funds to the Asociación CEPUDO based on goals scored during specific matchdays.
