Water sports competitions launch in Spain including WSL surfing and sailing leagues
Several major water sports competitions are scheduled to take place in Spain. The Edommo Surf Pro Razo is transitioning from a junior to an absolute category event, joining the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series as a QS 2,000 competition. The event will be held in Razo between October 15 and 18, featuring approximately 150 surfers.
In sailing, the Liga Iberdrola Femenina season 2026-2027 begins in Vilagarcía de Arousa at the Centro Galego de Vela. The event features a record 16 teams from nine Spanish autonomous communities competing in Elliott 6m boats. Additionally, the Rey Juan Carlos I- El Corte Inglés Máster regatta is taking place in Sanxenxo, bringing together nearly 200 boats across various classes, including ORC and J80.
In Vigo, the Open de España for 420 and Vaurien classes is being held at the Ría de Vigo, involving approximately 60 sailors across 30 boats as part of the Semana Abanca program.
