Atlante and León draw 1-1 in Liga MX match delayed by storm

In Liga MX Apertura 2026 Matchday 6, Atlante and León played to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Azteca. The match was delayed by one hour due to an electrical storm in Mexico City. León took the lead in the 81st minute through a penalty converted by José Alfonso Alvarado following a VAR review. However, Atlante secured a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time when Martín Sarrafiore scored a long-range strike into the top corner.

In another fixture, Cruz Azul secured a 3-1 away victory against Necaxa at Estadio Victoria. Goals for Cruz Azul were scored by Jeremy Márquez, Nicolás Ibáñez, and Willer Ditta, while Emi Rodríguez provided the lone goal for Necaxa. The match was marked by a medical emergency when Necaxa's Carlos Vargas required a stretcher and neck collar after a heavy fall, triggering the concussion protocol.

Additionally, in the Liga de Expansión, Atlético Morelia defeated Dorados 1-0. The match at Estadio El Encanto was also delayed by 60 minutes due to a power outage. René López scored the decisive goal for Morelia in the 4th minute.
