Liga Nuevejuliense Ascenso tournament begins, Atlético La Niña tops standings

The first round of the Liga Nuevejuliense Ascenso football tournament was played on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Three matches were contested while Unión Dennehy had a bye. Atlético La Niña opened the competition with a 2‑1 away victory over Defensores de Sarmiento at the El Provincial stadium, scoring through Joaquín Mina and Luciano Oliva, with Franco Zárate providing a consolation goal for the hosts.
