Lighthouse Charity appeals for £200,000 amid record demand

The Lighthouse Charity has launched an urgent appeal to raise £200,000 to combat record-breaking demand for its services within the construction community. The organization reports a 51% increase in families seeking financial, emotional, and physical wellbeing support so far this year.

Specific service metrics show that food deliveries have risen by 65%, and the charity has funded more than 7,000 counselling sessions. CEO Sarah Bolton noted that workers are struggling with the rising costs of housing, fuel, food, and energy, often while working long hours in challenging environments. The charity aims to use the additional funds to maintain its 24/7 helpline, online chat services, and meal delivery programs for those unable to meet basic necessities.
