Ligier Automotive secures three clients for new JS P228 LMP2 chassis

Ligier Automotive has secured its first three clients for the upcoming LMP2 era beginning in 2028. The manufacturer confirmed that Algarve Pro Racing, Inter Europol Competition, and Panis Racing have all committed to using the new Ligier JS P228 chassis.

This move represents a significant strategic shift for the French manufacturer as it seeks to challenge the dominance of the Oreca 07 in the LMP2 category. The participating teams are among the most prominent in the European Le Mans Series. Algarve Pro Racing, which has a history of success in the Asian Le Mans Series and at the 24 Hours of Daytona, noted that the decision was driven by the vision of Ligier's leadership.

Panis Racing, owned by former driver Olivier Panis, and Inter Europol Competition have also expressed confidence in the new project. The involvement of these high-caliber teams is viewed by Ligier President Jacques Nicolet as a major recognition of the company's development work as they prepare for the next generation of endurance racing regulations.
