Ligue 1 clubs target new strikers amid transfer activity

French Ligue 1 clubs Stade Rennais and Le Mans are actively pursuing attacking reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Stade Rennais is preparing for the departure of striker Breel Embolo, who is reportedly linked to a move to MLS side Atlanta United for over 17 million euros. To replace him, the club has entered discussions with Lazio Rome regarding Senegalese forward Boulaye Dia. Dia has significant Ligue 1 experience, having previously played 78 matches for Stade de Reims.

Meanwhile, newly promoted Le Mans is seeking to bolster its squad with veteran experience. The club has initiated contact with Augsburg striker Steve Mounié. The 31-year-old Beninese international has a strong history in Ligue 1, with 44 goals scored during his time at Montpellier and Brest. While discussions have begun, Le Mans has not yet submitted a formal offer.
