Liguria network outage disrupts emergency services and TIM connectivity
A technical failure in fiber optic and telephone networks has caused significant service disruptions in Liguria and surrounding regions. The outage specifically impacted emergency numbers 112 and 118, creating risks for emergency response communications.
Reports indicate the disruption was linked to a TIM network cable fault in Busalla, affecting fixed and mobile internet, as well as voice calls. At the peak of the incident, over 1,500 reports were recorded, with issues spanning broadband, mobile data, and telephony. While some users also reported issues with PosteMobile, the majority of complaints centered on the TIM network.
A task force coordinated by Liguria Digitale, in collaboration with Prefectures and Police Headquarters, was activated to monitor network nodes and coordinate repairs. Although emergency lines were initially compromised, hospital activities and CUP management have since returned to normal operational status.
