Liguria President Marco Bucci signs autonomy agreement and discusses ex Ilva plant

Liguria President Marco Bucci has signed an agreement regarding differentiated autonomy for the region, joining a process that includes Lombardy, Piedmont, and Veneto. The agreement covers five specific areas: health protection, public finance coordination, civil protection, professions, and supplementary/integrative social security. Bucci stated the move is intended to create a more modern and efficient regional model with tools tailored to local needs.

In a separate meeting at the Prefecture in Genoa, Bucci met with Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi to discuss the future of the ex Ilva plant. Bucci expressed optimism that the plant's issues could be resolved, noting that the Minister acknowledged union requests and expressed concern regarding the social security implications of the situation. The discussions also touched upon the possibility of establishing a Center for Repatriation and Stay (CPR) in Liguria.
