Liguria Region launches logistics bridge with Georgia, USA

A delegation from the Liguria Region conducted an economic and institutional mission to Georgia, USA, between September 22 and 25, focusing on logistics, innovation, and international investment. The mission aimed to establish the ‘Georgia–Liguria Logistic Bridge,’ a collaborative framework designed to foster new trade flows and commercial opportunities between the ports and logistics systems of both territories.

In Savannah, representatives met with the Georgia Ports Authority and visited the Garden City Terminal and the World Trade Center Savannah to discuss international trade and import-export connections. In Atlanta, meetings with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia State, and the Georgia Department of Economic Development addressed bilateral investments and the startup ecosystem.

The mission also emphasized technological and scientific cooperation. Discussions at Emory University’s Hatchery covered entrepreneurship, health technologies, and artificial intelligence. The Liguria Region, the University of Genoa, and Emory University are currently evaluating a potential collaboration program to bridge their respective innovation ecosystems.
