Liguria Region initiates introduction of nursing assistant role

The Liguria Region has initiated the process to introduce the role of nursing assistant into the regional health service, following its national establishment via a decree in February 2025.

The initiative aims to identify professional needs, define care areas of operation, and organize training pathways in alignment with national standards. To implement this, the Region will collaborate with the University of Genoa and various regional healthcare structures, including IRCCS, to ensure quality training and practical internships.

Health Councilor Massimo Nicolò stated that the goal is to prepare the regional health service for future challenges by valuing professional skills and building adequate responses to the population's care needs.
