Liguria transport companies seek compensation for highway construction delays

Fita CNA Liguria has requested a meeting with regional authorities to seek financial compensation for transport companies affected by ongoing highway construction. The association reports that roadworks are causing significant delays, increased travel times, and higher operational costs due to the region's high concentration of tunnels and viaducts.

A primary concern is the absence of new compensation funds from Autostrade per l’Italia (Aspi) for 2026, following previous annual contributions of approximately 35 million euros granted between 2022 and 2024. The association is calling for a broader approach that involves all regional concessionaires, the Liguria Region, and the relevant Ministry to address the widespread impact on the regional road network.
