Lijomol Jose on Unmadham and her wish for lighter roles

In the movie she portrays Soumya, the frustrated wife of Kunchacko Boban’s aspiring screen‑writer‑cop, a character juggling household responsibilities, work and financial pressure. Jose says the role reflects many women who are primary earners while their partners pursue ambitions.

She credits writer Shahi Kabir and director Kiran Das for shaping Soumya’s emotional journey, noting that the story’s focus on a strong, relatable woman appealed to her.
