Likud Party alleges foreign interference in Israeli elections

The Likud Party has called for immediate criminal investigations into journalist Shlomi Eldar, reporter Ruth Yuval, the newspaper Haaretz, and politician Yair Golan. The party alleges a coordinated attempt to influence Israeli elections through the dissemination of false reports.

Likud claims that the source behind recent Haaretz reporting is Palestinian leader Mohammed Dahlan, who resides in the United Arab Emirates. The party asserts that Dahlan aims to destabilize Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to facilitate his own control over the Gaza Strip. According to Likud, this would require the formation of a weak leftist government involving figures such as Benny Gantz, Yair Golan, and Avigdor Liberman.

Furthermore, the party alleges that Eldar received funding from a leftist association linked to Golan’s Democratic Party to publish these narratives. Likud also raised questions regarding a secret visit to the UAE by Yair Golan and Ronen Bar approximately two months ago, suggesting a potential connection to the recent media developments.
