Likud Party uses Erdoğan in controversial election billboards
The Likud Party, led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has sparked controversy by displaying large propaganda billboards in Tel Aviv as part of its election campaign. The advertisements, located near the Ayalon Highway, feature photos of several international figures grouped together, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The Hebrew text on the black-background posters reads, “They want Netanyahu to lose. Do not let them win.”
Political analysts suggest the campaign aims to consolidate the right-wing voter base by utilizing security-focused messaging and framing regional tensions as a direct threat to Netanyahu’s leadership. The inclusion of President Erdoğan alongside leaders of Iran and Hezbollah has been noted as a reflection of the ongoing diplomatic tensions between Israel and Turkey.
