Lil Durk co-defendant seeks to overturn stalking convictions

Legal proceedings continue following the acquittal of rapper Lil Durk in a federal murder-for-hire case related to a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles. The incident resulted in the death of Saviay’a ‘Lul Pab’ Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo.

David Lindsey, a co-defendant in the case, has filed a motion asking a federal judge to overturn his stalking convictions. Lindsey’s defense argues that the prosecution failed to prove intent, citing testimony from cooperating witnesses who claimed the intended target was Quando Rondo rather than Robinson. Lindsey is seeking either a judgment of acquittal on counts of conspiracy to commit stalking and stalking resulting in death, or a new trial.

The conflict between the camps of Lil Durk and Quando Rondo dates back nearly six years, involving several violent incidents, including the 2020 killing of King Von. While Lil Durk was acquitted of all five charges in September, Lindsey and Deandre Wilson were convicted on three stalking counts but acquitted of murder-for-hire charges. Durk remains in custody awaiting a second federal trial scheduled for next summer.
