Lil Durk trial delayed with bond hearing set for November
Chicago rapper Lil Durk has had his upcoming racketeering and firearm-related trial delayed. Following his acquittal in a murder-for-hire trial last month, U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald has scheduled a bond hearing for November 4 at the request of his legal counsel.
The upcoming trial, originally set for October 5, involves allegations that Durk helped finance and organize murders in aid of racketeering. Prosecutors aim to link him to a 2019 Atlanta shooting and a 2022 Chicago murder, alleging he provided compensation to those who carried out violent acts.
Durk's defense team is expected to argue that he poses no flight risk or threat to the community, potentially seeking release on bond. Separately, a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Durk by the mother of Saviay’a Robinson regarding a February incident.
